What do I need to sign up for a Library Card?
Connecticut residents must apply for a card from the town in which they live. Hartland residents must apply for a new card in-person at the library and bring the following:
Hartland Residents over 18:
Photo ID (i.e. driver’s license, passport, or State of Connecticut ID).
If you have recently moved to town and your ID does not reflect your new address, also bring an official piece of mail (i.e. utility bill or mortgage bill) with your name for proof of residency.
Hartland Residents under 18:
Your guardian must be present to apply for a library card.
Guardians must provide ID and proof of residency.
Non-Resident Cards
Through the Connecticut State Library borrowIt system, Residents of Connecticut who possess a valid library card through any CT library can check out books from the Hartland Public Library using a non-resident card. Please stop in to the Library during our hours with your valid library card to get started!
Temporary Resident Cards
We offer Temporary Resident library cards for non-resident patron living or employed in town for a season. Give us a call or stop by to find out about options for borrowing.
